Attendance
Every day in school supports learning and success. Attendance builds routines, confidence, and connection and being present matters academically and socially.
We’re here to help students stay engaged and be successful at school. If you have questions about attendance policies, how to submit an absence, or other resources related to attendance, please view the following resources:

How Absences Work
- If your child is marked absent or tardy, you will receive a message through ParentSquare.
- When you receive the notification, click on “Send Note to School and enter the reason for the absence—no need to use a separate form or platform.
- Once submitted, your school’s attendance staff will receive your note and if approved, update your child’s attendance record in Infinite Campus.
- All notes are securely logged in ParentSquare, helping schools maintain accurate records.
Other Options for Families
Families may also continue to provide a written absence note directly to the classroom teacher or school office.

Attending school every day is critical to your child’s education. We realize, however, that sometimes things happen that require a student to be absent. When that happens, we want an easy way for you to let us know why your child was absent so we can mark it excused or unexcused.
Families should report an absence by filling out the linked Reporting an [Absence Google Form.] (link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd2Qtkjzaen6QIRqJME9pco6BlgBwEBnlZrlwDxlis6KdpbCg/viewform
If you have any questions, please contact North Mecklenburg High School at (980)343-3840. Thank you for supporting your child’s attendance at school every single day.
